Major Capital Funding: Creation of New Licensed Child Care Spaces
The Child Care Major Capital Funding is not currently accepting applications for new projects.
Budget 2018 committed $237 million over three years, including $27M in 2018/19 to increase access to licensed child care by supporting the creation of over 22,000 new licensed child care spaces.
To meet this target, the Child Care Major Capital Program is undergoing changes to streamline processes and improve the ministry’s ability to support applicants. One enhancement will be a continuous application process whereby the Ministry will accept applications through an intake that will remain open based on availability of funds within the fiscal year. This will allow child care providers and organizations to develop their applications at their own pace and apply when they are ready, rather than on a fixed timeline.
More information will be available in the coming months. Please be advised that any updated information will be posted on this page. Program staff are not able to provide any additional information until the new Child Care Major Capital Program is ready to launch. Once the continuous intake is open, all funding criteria and applications will be posted and staff will be able to support you through the application process.
