The company sources directly from leading growers in the Lower Mainland and Okanagan, who grow and pack to the industry’s highest quality standard. Fresh Concept specializes in exporting fresh blueberries and fresh cherries. The company also has experience sourcing strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, cranberries, apples and stone fruit.

Fresh Concept ensures that growing and post-harvest operations meet and exceed food safety standards, working with growers to implement programs including Good Agricultural Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, CanadaGAP and GlobalGAP standards.

Harvesting of blueberries commences in early July and is completed by late September. There are more than 20 different varieties planted with more than 50% of the area planted with the variety duke.

Bluecrop and elliott are also popular varieties in the region. For cherries, harvesting commences in early July and is completed by early September. Fresh Concept cherry exports start with satin, lapin and skeena varieties, followed by sweetheart, staccato and sentennial varieties.

Established in 2008 in Vancouver, Fresh Concept works closely with growers to help them tailor their practices for the ever-growing worldwide demand for high-quality fresh perishable produce. The company delivers consistent premium quality berries and cherries to ports of entry, coordinating the growers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and food inspection agencies, to supply some of the world’s leading retail groups and their sourcing partners.
