BC Wine Studio
Artisan Food and Beverage Group Inc. (Artisan) produces high-quality, distinctive, handcrafted wines.
Led by winemaker Mark Simpson’s vision, Artisan produces wines that combine the fantastic growing conditions in the Okanagan Valley with old world winemaking techniques. They source fruit from the best vineyards in B.C. and craft a family of beautiful wines that display impeccable character, pure varietal integrity and quality. The climate in B.C. is perfect for cool climate viticulture, which means the wine from these grapes has great acidity, excellent balance and wonderful fruit structure and finesse. Their wines regularly win medals and accolades.
Artisan’s brand, BC Wine Studio, creates a range of award-winning wines, including: their flagship Siren’s Call line, offering varietal wines such as Viognier, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Petit Verdot and Petit Malbec; their “Escapist” line, including a Pinot Gris and a Merlot; as well as custom wines tailored to customer needs. All wines are subject to extensive testing throughout production, for taste, chemical parameters, and overall quality and texture. Artisan works with growers to ensure good health, ripeness and quality for their grape supply. Many of their products go through the Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA) testing program, an internationally recognized badge of quality and assurance of B.C. origin.
Established in Vancouver in 2007, Artisan began as a consulting company specializing in winery and brewery start-ups, strategic planning and business development. They created their own product lines to show their passion and expertise for building a high quality made-in-B.C. product. All waste streams are recycled or composted, and the company donates 10% of production to causes and charities they believe in, such as the Mount Pleasant Family Centre Society.
