2014 B.C. Obsolete Pesticide Collection Program
CleanFarms has organized an unwanted pesticide collection for the Fraser Valley and Vancouver Island regions of B.C. for the fall of 2014. The program provides B.C. agriculture producers and commercial pesticide applicators the opportunity to safely dispose of their unwanted, obsolete pesticides, free of charge. Commercial and restricted pesticides from farms, greenhouses, golf courses, the turf industry, landscape companies, structural pest control companies and vegetative management industries will be accepted.
The pesticides must be brought to a designated collection site in a secure container with the product label attached. If there is no label, identify the container as 'unknown pesticide' and ensure that containers are not leaking.
Certain products are not accepted as part of this program. Adjuvants, spray rinsate, treated seed, paint, solvents, domestic pesticides, full containers of adjuvants* or other domestic hazardous wastes will not be accepted. Contact your local municipality for disposal options for these products.
*Manufacturers may accept unopened containers of adjuvants free of charge. Applicators should contact their local dealer for details on these returns.
CleanFARMS is a non-profit industry stewardship organization committed to environmental responsibility through the proper management and disposal of agricultural waste.
