Policy and Regulation Development

Bill 51 - The Environmental Assessment Act passed in the legislature; however, there are still a number of policies and regulations that must be developed before the bill comes into force (anticipated in late 2019).

To support the development of new Environmental Assessment regulations and policies, two Implementation Committees representing a diverse range of environmental assessment participants will provide feedback and advice on draft materials and concepts. The EAO will also be engaging directly with stakeholders, industry, Indigenous nations and the public.
