The B.C. Government offers a wide range of programs and initiatives designed to support manufacturers.
The BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund helps manufacturing companies modernize, innovate, and grow by providing grants for capital projects throughout British Columbia.
The InBC Strategic Investment Fund is an independent $500 million strategic investment fund created by the Government of British Columbia. Its mandate is to help promising companies grow, while generating returns that benefit all British Columbians.
The BC Maritime Industries Infrastructure Modernization and Expansion Grant Program is investing up to $25 million in non-repayable funding for projects that modernize, scale and increase regional capabilities and capacity for small vessel construction and either boat and ship dry dock or, overhaul, refit, maintenance and repair infrastructure.
Small Business BC is the province’s premier resource centre for small businesses. It provides company owners with a wide range of products, services and support to enable growth and sustainability.
The BC Supplier Development Program assists businesses to become more productive and competitive through a focus on operational excellence by offering low-cost consultation and training. Businesses that are registered in B.C., in good standing with WorkSafeBC, and would like assistance in analyzing and improving operational processes can contact the program directly at BCSDP@gov.bc.ca
Innovate BC provides students with training opportunities in B.C.’s technology sector through the Digital Skills for Youth Program and the Innovator Skills Initiative. Both programs provide grants for businesses to hire students for tech-specific roles.
The Innovative Clean Energy Fund supports pre-commercial clean energy technology projects, clean energy vehicles, research and development, and energy efficiency programs.
The CleanBC Industry Fund invests in greenhouse gas-reducing projects and increases opportunities for innovative clean technologies.
The CleanBC Industrial Incentive Program encourages cleaner industrial operations by reducing carbon tax costs for facilities that can demonstrate their operations are among the lower emitting for their sector.
Innovate BC's Ignite Program provides funding to accelerate the commercialization of new technologies and innovations in the natural resources and applied sciences sectors in B.C.
Indigenous Forest Bioeconomy supports the growth of the B.C. bioeconomy through innovation and partnerships, and provides economic opportunities for Indigenous and rural communities in developing the forest bioeconomy.
Canada-BC Agri-Innovation Program provides cost-shared funding intended to advance innovation, competitiveness, sustainability, productivity, and resiliency within the agricultural sector in B.C.
The Export Navigator Program offers access to community-based export specialists who provide businesses with a personalized, step-by-step approach to exporting and help connect them to available resources.
Trade and Invest BC's export services help businesses expand internationally. The BC Trade and Investment Representative Network includes trade offices in 17 locations, including nine in Asia, four in the United States, three in India and one in the UK. These offices help export-ready B.C. businesses create and strengthen overseas relationships.
Forestry Innovation Investment is a government-funded market development agency that works to strengthen and diversify international markets for B.C. forest products. It is funded and accessed through BC Wood.
The B.C. Agriculture and Seafood Market Development Program helps B.C. agri-food producers, agri-food and seafood processors, co-operatives, and associations to identify, access, target and develop market opportunities to increase their sales outside of B.C.
The Youth in Manufacturing Initiative provides training and short-term, paid work placements for B.C. youth aged 16-21. Eligible employers receive up to $3,500 per youth placement to offset onboarding and wage costs.
The Sector Labour Market Partnership Program provides funding for industry-led research projects to better understand and respond to changing labour market demands.
The Training Tax Credit for Apprentices helps make trades training more affordable. The program provides refundable tax credits of up to $3750 for apprentices enrolled in programs administered through the Industry Training Authority.
The B.C. Employer Training Grant provides funding for employers to support skills training for their current and new employees to adapt to the changing requirements of jobs and the labour market including a technical skills stream supporting automation and technological advancements, such as new software, technology or machinery.
The Community Workforce Response Grant provides up to $10 million a year in funding for communities and sectors to support in-demand skills training leading to secure and sustainable employment for British Columbians.
Work BC helps people find jobs, explore career options and improve their skills. It also helps employers fill jobs, find the right talent and grow their businesses.
The Community Investment Opportunities Tool connects investors with opportunities in communities across B.C. and allows communities to promote industrial, commercial and agricultural properties available for sale or lease.
The Community Information Tool offers insights into regions across B.C. with integrated socio-economic, internet connectivity, and community assets data. Learn more about a specific area of the province, or discover an area with particular characteristics.

Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen) is the industry-led, non-profit organization leading Canada’s Global Innovation Cluster for Advanced Manufacturing. NGen offers a variety of programs and supports, including project funding, industry collaboration opportunities, and workforce development.
The New Relationship Trust Economic Development Support Team (EDST) provides Indigenous business specialists to First Nations in B.C., to support them in making complex business decisions.
The New Relationship Trust Entrepreneur Equity Matching Initiative and Community Equity Matching Initiative support new or expanding B.C. First Nation businesses and communities by providing matching equity through B.C. Aboriginal Financial Institutions.
The Trade Accelerator Program, from the World Trade Centre Vancouver, is dedicated to strengthening the export performance of small and medium-sized businesses in B.C.
Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) Strategic Innovation Fund supports large-scale, transformative and collaborative projects covering all sectors of the economy, supporting the Canadian innovation ecosystem. The program has two components: Business Innovation and Growth, and Collaborations and Networks
Pacific Economic Development Canada’s Business Scale-up and Productivity program supports innovation, business growth and community economic development in B.C.
The Trade Commissioner Service helps Canadian businesses grow by connecting them with funding and support programs, international opportunities, and network of trade commissioners in over 160 cities worldwide.
The Canadian Manufacturers & Exporter’s Technology Assessment Program helps companies understand which technologies are best suited for their needs and provide greater certainty on investments.
