Before applying for a security worker licence, you must understand the training and qualifications for licensing in British Columbia.


Authorized Credit Card Usage Form for Security Workers (PDF) — Use this form to pay your licensing fees by MasterCard or Visa.


Application for a New/Expired Security Worker Licence (PDF) Use this form to apply for a new security worker licence or if your licence has expired. Also use it if you hold a Security Guard Under Supervision Licence and meet all the requirements for a full security guard licence.

Note: Do not use this form to apply for a Security Guard Under Supervision licence. Use the Application for a 90-day Security Guard Under Supervision Licence.


Application for a Renewal of Security Worker Licence (PDF) Use this form to renew your security worker licence.


Application for a 90-day Security Guard Under Supervision Licence (PDF) — Use this form to apply for the Security Guard Under Supervision licence.

Note: This type of licence can only be held once.


Request for Replacement of Current Security Worker Licence (PDF) Use this form to replace a security worker licence that has been lost or stolen.

Note: You must have your licence in your possession at all times when providing security services.


Reporting an Update to your Current Security Worker Licence (PDF) Use this form if you have a current security worker licence and you must report changes in your legal name, residence, status as a peace officer, or new criminal charges or convictions, or a mental condition to the Registrar.


Request for Fingerprinting (PDF) Use this form to have your fingerprints taken before you apply for your first security worker licence.


Mental Health Condition Form (PDF) Use this form to report a mental condition to the Registrar when applying for a licence or at any time after receiving a licence.


Use of Force Incident Report (PDF) Use this form to report your use of force against another person while you were acting as a security worker.

Note: Force includes using a restraining device, firearm or other weapon, or if a dog you were licenced to use for security work attacks a person.
