About a Society's Purposes
The purposes of a society state why the society exists. A society may have one or more lawful purposes including the following:
A purpose cannot include operating a business for profit or gain.
A society may be ordered to alter its purpose if it is contrary to the Societies Act.

The purposes of the society are
- to provide an opportunity for amateur musicians to play together, and
- to make the band available for civic and charitable functions.
