Change Your Society's Constitution

To file a change to a society’s name or purposes, or to adopt or remove a member-funded society designation, make sure the change has been authorized by special resolution and submit a constitution alteration application through Societies Online.

Transition First

If your society needs to transition to the new Act and has not yet done so, complete the transition process before submitting a constitution alteration application.

What to Prepare

Before you log in to Societies Online to file the constitution alteration application, make sure you know the date the special resolution changing the constitution was passed.

If the name of your society is changing, Societies Online will ask you to submit the new society name for approval. Have three name choices ready in case your first choice is not available.

If the purposes have changed you will need to cut and paste (or type) the updated purposes into the online application.
