As part of the security screening process, you must have your identity verified and your signature for consent witnessed in person at a: 

• Service BC location (You are in B.C. at time of application)
• Local police station (You are outside B.C. at time of application)

How to submit your information

• The instructions for verifying your identity and consenting to the security screening depends on where you live
  • For example, the instructions for a resident of B.C. are different than someone living in another province

1. Print and complete, but don't sign the Consent for Cannabis Security Screening form (PDF, 84.3 KB)

2. Print the Identity and Signature Attestation form (PDF, 222.5 KB)

3. Collect all supporting documents listed in the above linked instructions

4. Complete the identity verification and witness of consent process

   • ​A list of acceptable identification is found in the above instructions

   • The instructions are based on where you live

5. If you are not a Canadian resident, but you are currently located in Canada, you must request a Criminal Record Check from your country of residency and mail it to the LCRB.

6. Request a Criminal Record Check at the police station

7. Have the police station clerk complete the Identity Verification Attestation form

8. Visit a local police station, lawyer, or notary with

   • Witness of Signature Attestation form

   • Consent for Cannabis Security Screening form

   • Your completed Identity Attestation form

9. Have the police station clerk, lawyer or notary

   • Check your identification

   • Witness your signature 

   • Complete the Witness of Signature Attestation form

10. Mail a copy of the Criminal Record Check to the LCRB. See above linked instructions for details

11. Upload the completed forms and supporting documents to the liquor and cannabis licensing portal as part of the cannabis store licence application
