Liquor Special Event Permit

Public Special Event:$100.00 licence fee per day/location.

Private Special Event: $25.00 licence fee per day/location (includes family special event permits.)

Formerly Special Occasion Licences (SOL), Special Event Permits (SEP) are available to event hosts who wish to provide temporary or infrequent liquor service at events such as family gatherings, private functions, community festivals and manufacturer tastings.  A Special Event Permit allows the host to serve or sell liquor at an event in accordance with BC’s liquor laws and regulations. Event hosts are responsible for the safety of their guests.

The following prices are the maximum that can be charged for liquor at a special event.  Smaller serving sizes should be prorated using these prices.

Special Event Permits are not intended to be used for the purpose of making a profit. Permittees who charge above the maximum price list must donate the profits from the event to a non-profit organization with a charitable purpose, unless otherwise exempted by the general manager.

*Patrons may be served more than once, but the serving sizes are the maximum that can be served at a single time.

**Only organizations with a GST registration number may include the GST in the price.

***Family, private, and public events may apply for an exemption to charge more than $7.00 per serving of wine/champagne if it is for a cost recovery purpose.
