Project Based Learning
French Immersion, Cultural Activities, Metro Vancouver Region, 2016-2017
French Immersion teachers in SD 48 collaborated to develop projects (i.e. culture based Carnival) for the whole school where all classes participated to learn about French Canadian culture and vocabulary. They also developed projects for the school developing cross curricular projects in team grade (i.e. K/1/2) designing sleds, testing them, then redesigning them to improve their performance. As inquiry and project based learning is part of our district’s Pathways to Learning Education Plan, this progress is significant within our district.
