Respect in Two Languages: Bilingual Poster Project
Core french, Cultural Activities, School-level initiative, Northern B.C. Region, 2016-2017
Local artist and former French Immersion Student Kelly Clifton worked with high school Core French Students. Together, they created 5 posters that will be available for all French Classes next year. The poster are in French and in Sm'algyax and have original aboriginal art. The five posters represent - le respect, la nature, la famille, la bonté et la réconciliation. Early next year, the posters will be officially blessed by a First Nation elder and then will be available for distribution.
This project was a big success; it brought together two cultures and two languages. The posters are original and will be proudly displayed in both French immersion and Core French classes.
