Help! French Immersion Helping Teacher Gets Results
French Immersion, School-level initiative, Fraser Valley Region, 2017-2018
The French Immersion Helping Teacher worked with a group of teachers in our three immersion schools to increase and improve the amount and quality of french spoken in the classroom. The teachers had in class support from helping teacher, time to collaborate and resources. This project lasted the entire year and we found positive results. The teachers used structured formats, small group, large group lessons.
We found that the students will speak more french with less mistakes when you give them structures to follow. We saw positive results and we will continue to encourage teachers to use these methods.
