Issue 19-167 Food Services and Drinking Places

Receipts at food services and drinking places in B.C. were relatively unchanged (-0.1% seasonally adjusted) in August.

Canadian establishments saw receipts inched up (+0.3%) despite revenues declining in seven provinces. A 1.4% sales boost in Quebec was responsible for much of the overall increase. Canadian drinking places took in less revenue (-0.5%), but sales at full-service restaurants (+0.4%) and limited-service eateries (+0.4%) saw receipts climb.
