Sales by retailers in the province slipped 0.8% (seasonally adjusted) in July, following a similar decline in June (-0.7%).
Canadian sales inched up 0.4%, marking the first increase in three months. B.C., Quebec (-0.4%) and New Brunswick (-2.7%) were the only provinces where sales were weak. Elsewhere, retailers posted gains ranging from 0.2% in Nova Scotia to 1.2% in Ontario.
