Issue 19-13 Visitor Entries

Visitor entries to B.C. from the U.S. and overseas slowed slightly (-0.7%, seasonally adjusted) in November. While travel to B.C. from the U.S. inched 0.4% higher, entries from overseas sources declined 3.4%.

Overall travel to Canada inched up 0.5% in November. Visits from the U.S. increased 0.7% from the previous month, while travel from overseas sources stalled (-0.1%). Meanwhile, the number of Canadians returning home from abroad dipped 0.9%, as travel by Canadian residents to the United States declined 1.5%, while travel to overseas countries was on the rise (+1.5%).
