Issue 19-122 Food Services and Drinking Places

Receipts at food services and drinking places in B.C. continued to seesaw in May, inching up 0.1% (seasonally adjusted), following a 0.7% decline in April.

Canadian sales were also slightly higher (+0.2%) in May, with all but two provinces posting increases. Nationally, receipts at special food service establishments and drinking places each slipped 2.2%, but full-service restaurants and limited-service eating places chalked up higher revenues (+0.3 and +0.8%, respectively).
