In February, B.C. welcomed over 679 thousand non-resident travellers (seasonally adjusted), of which almost three quarters were from the United States. Non-resident traveller entries to Canada through British Columbia fell by 2.1% compared to the previous month.
The number of Canadians returning home via B.C. from the U.S. and overseas went up by 3.2% in February compared to January.
Nationally, Canadians made 3.8 million trips to the United States in February, an increase of 1.3% compared to the previous month. Canadian travel to international destinations outside the United States grew at a faster pace of 4.7% in the month.
Travel to Canada was up 1.0% in February, with the number of both visitors from the United States (+0.4%) and from the rest of the world (+2.9%) posting gains in the month.
