The number of British Columbians receiving regular Employment Insurance (EI) benefits dropped 2.4% (seasonally adjusted) in October, to 36,670. Nationally, EI beneficiaries were down 1.5%, to 439,600. The number of beneficiaries was down in most provinces across the country. Ontario (-3.7%) saw the most substantial decline, followed by B.C. and Newfoundland and Labrador (-1.7%).
