In April, B.C. welcomed over 688,000 non-resident travellers (seasonally adjusted), of which almost three quarters were from the United States. Non-resident traveller entries to Canada through British Columbia went down (0.3%) compared to the previous month.
The number of Canadians returning home via B.C. from the U.S. and overseas grew by 4.0% in April compared to March.
Nationally, Canadians made 3.8 million trips to the United States in April, slightly fewer (-0.4%) than in the previous month. On the other hand, Canadian travel to international destinations outside the United States increased by 2.0% in the month.
Travel to Canada was down 3.1% in April, primarily due to fewer visitors from the United States (-4.0%). Visitors from the rest of the world also posted a small decline in the month (-0.1%).
