Revenues generated in British Columbia’s food service and drinking places industry climbed 1.6% (seasonally adjusted) in January. Nationally, industry receipts were up 1.5%, with Ontario (+1.8%) being responsible for much of the increase. Modest gains were made among full-service restaurants (+0.2%) and special food services establishments (+0.1%), while drinking (+3.6%) and limited-service eating (+2.9%) places saw more substantial sales boosts.
