Issue 16-219: Visitor Entries

Total non-resident entries to Canada via British Columbia jumped 2.3% (seasonally adjusted) in September. While the number of visitors from the U.S. rose a solid 1.1%, entries from the rest of the world (+5.7%) were up even more markedly. The number of tourists entering the province from Asia (+9.4%) saw the biggest boost, followed by those arriving from North America, Central America and Caribbean (+7.2%), South America (+4.8%) and Europe (+2.3%). Total non-resident travel to Canada was up 1.8% in September as a result of more U.S. (+2.0%) and non-U.S. (+1.1%) entries.
