Issue 16-147: Tourism Room Revenues

Room revenues across the two biggest tourism regions in British Columbia continued to exhibit growth in the month of May. On a year-over-year basis, both The Islands (+4.5%) and Vancouver, Coast and Mountains (+3.2%) tourism regions reported an increase in revenues.
On the other hand, there was a large decline in room revenues in Northern BC (-24.2%). In addition, after months of robust growth over the past year, both BC Rockies (-2.6%) and Thompson/Okanagan (-1.6%) tourism regions reported a slight drop in May on a year-over-year basis.
