Issue 16-105: Food Services and Drinking Places

B.C.’s food services and drinking places saw higher revenues (+0.7%, seasonally adjusted) in March, nearly erasing losses recorded in the previous month (-0.9%).
Nationally, total receipts were off 0.1%, as slipping sales at full-service restaurants offset gains in other types of establishments. Five provinces recorded overall declines, including Quebec (-0.5%) and Ontario (-0.5%). Newfoundland and Labrador, where receipts climbed 1.9%, recorded the largest increase in sales in March.
