When hiring for a position the salary rate is determined depending on the agreement:
- Salaries for bargaining unit positions (BCGEU, PEA, Nurses) are negotiated with the unions
- Salaries for excluded management positions are determined by the ministry within salary ranges set by the BC Public Service Agency. Rules for classification and salary decisions for excluded management are explained in the Management Compensation and Classification Framework Compensation Rules.
