These documents are submitted by individuals or corporations as part of the requirements under the Drilling and Production Regulations created under the Oil and Gas Activity Act. Although great care was taken in transferring core and cuttings data into the various spread sheets, and the data was checked against the original documents, the BC Ministry of Natural Gas Development cannot guarantee that all data was copied without error. The data in these files spans the years 2007 to 2011. The data in this open file can be viewed by several methods: 1) through linked Microsoft Excel spread sheets, 2) ESRI ArcGIS shape files and associated Excel spread sheet data sets and 3) individual Excel spread sheets. The core_cutting_analysis.xlsx Microsoft Excel file contains two spread sheets (Ordered by WA, and Ordered by Location) each containing basic information on Well Name, Well Authorization Number (WA), Location, Formation analyzed, and type of analysis. As the names indicate, spread sheet “Ordered by WA” is sorted by Well Authorization number and spread sheet “Ordered by Location” is sorted by map location, either by Township and Range (Dominion Land Survey Grid, DLS) or through the National Topographic System of map sheets (Petroleum and Natural Gas Grid, PNG). In the "Ordered by Location" spreadsheet, DLS wells are listed first, sorted by Township, Range, Section, and then Legal Subdivision respectively. In the PNG system, wells are sorted by Map Sheet, Block, Unit, then 1/4 Unit. The WA number is linked to a secondary file, the name of which is the WA number (i.e. 10621.xlsx) containing analyses captured from individual well file reports. The various analyses within this file are found in tabbed spread sheets within the file. The “ALL WELLS” folder contains all the analysis data, sorted by file name, which is the Well Authorization number. The data is also categorized by analysis type within subfolders of the folder “ANALYSIS CATEGORIES”. These are: ADSOPRTION, DESORPTION, ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY, GAS IN PLACE, MINERALOGY, PYROLYSIS & TOC and TRIAXIAL COMPRESSION. The “Shapefiles” folder contains basic geographic data to orient the user when linking the arcmap_link.xlsx file within the work area. This file will allow proper linkage of the various files linked to core_cutting_analysis_wells.xlsx.
