Being the Best 2012 

Despite the ongoing economic situation, we work very hard every day to improve outcomes and the lives of British Columbians. We have a diversity of talent in the public service with employees working in all geographic regions in over 200 occupations and enjoying careers that span 45-years and longer. Initially developed to manage a reduced workforce, the heart of this plan - and our community - has always been demonstrating flexibility, creativity and finding real opportunities despite challenging situations.

Together, we are becoming more innovative and adapting to "doing more with less" because we are deeply committed and passionate about our work. We are continuing to support one another with professionalism, expertise and collegiality. We are shifting our organizational culture to one in which employees are not only fully engaged, but also enabled by technology and mobile, flexible work options to be as productive as possible. As the BC Public Service strives to deliver an excellent employment experience and better services for British Columbians, this sixth edition of Being the Best highlights the accomplishments we have made and looks at current areas of focus and ways in which each of us can contribute. Reflecting our Communities

British Columbia's history in many ways is a story of finding strength and opportunity through diversity.
