Some employees are required to wear clothing specific to their job duties. In these situations, uniforms, protective clothing, and equipment are supplied, or employees are reimbursed for purchasing the items themselves.
Each bargaining unit has specific provisions.

Regular PEA and BCGEU Environmental, Technical, and Operational employees required to wear safety footwear will be reimbursed for receipts that show payment for:
BCGEU Retail Stores & Warehouse employees required to wear safety-toed footwear will be reimbursed every two years for receipts:
*NOTE* Reimbursement may be received only once every two calendar years. Employees are not eligible to receive a claim until they have gone one full calendar year without being reimbursed.
Examples:
New employees who purchase safety footwear in 2012 can apply immediately for reimbursement at the new biennial rate. You are not eligible for further reimbursement for one calendar year and the earliest date you can submit a reimbursement for new safety footwear is January 1, 2014.
An allowance of $26.50 per month is paid to employees responsible for cleaning the washable clothing provided.
Worn-out clothing is replaced by returning the used items to indicate that replacement is necessary.
