Personal Education Number (PEN)

Each student entering B.C.’s education system is assigned a Personal Education Number (PEN) – a unique nine-digit number connected to their student record.

Students use this number when accessing provincial exam results or ordering high school transcripts.

While not essential, a PEN can be useful when applying for post-secondary programs. If a student does not have a PEN, their next school of attendance will request it for them.
