About ISST

The ISST brings together staff from the ministries of Social Development, Children and Family Development, Health, and, when necessary, Education. Alongside Community Living BC (CLBC) staff, ISST staff can review the government services that are available to people with developmental disabilities and their families. The goal is to ensure people with developmental disabilities receive the best possible services

Who to Call if ISST is Not for You

Get Help from ISST - The Details


The Integrated Services Support Team (ISST) helps people with developmental disabilities solve problems they may have with services they receive from Community Living BC (CLBC) and any other B.C. government ministries and agencies.

Who can get help

We help people with developmental disabilities and their families when they have concerns about the services they are receiving from multiple B.C. government ministries or agencies.

You can get help from ISST if:

  1. You are a person with developmental disabilities who is currently receiving or eligible for services from CLBC (or you are a family member assisting a person with developmental disabilities who receives or is eligible to receive CLBC services);
  2. You have concerns about the services you are currently receiving from CLBC and one or more ministries and/or agencies noted below; and
  3. You have discussed your concerns with a staff member at your local CLBC office and no resolution has been reached.

The ministries and agencies ISST can help you work with include: Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Children and Family Development, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Advanced Education, Community Living BC, BC Housing, and Public Guardian and Trustee.

How to get help

If you are a person with developmental disabilities or a family member you can contact the Integrated Services Support Team in one of the following two ways.

    Be sure to include the following information:
    • Name
    • Birthdate
    • Address
    • Contact Information
    • Brief description of the service(s) that you are requesting/receiving

  • Toll-free: 1-855-356-1635
    Please leave a voicemail and we will get back to you within two business days.

What happens next?

After you submit a request for help, you can expect:

  1. An immediate acknowledgement of your submitted request;
  2. A personal inquiry from the ISST within two business days; and
  3. Review of your request at the local level.

    If the situation is not resolved with step 3 then, if necessary:
  4. Your request may be escalated to the provincial working group for resolution.

    If the situation remains unresolved with step 4 then, if necessary:
  5. Your request may be escalated to the deputy minister committee for resolution.

Your Privacy is Important

When you contact the ISST, the Ministry of Social Development collects information about you or your family member to help us process your request for services. To protect your privacy and that of your family member, we will only share this information to support your request for services. Any information you provide is protected under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
