The CareCard has not been updated since 1989. Since then, there have been advances in card technology that provide better security features, including a photo on most cards. Get secure access to health care services by replacing your CareCard with a BC Services Card.

Replace Your Card

Lost, Stolen or Damaged BC Services Card

Follow these steps if your card has been lost, stolen or damaged:

BC Services Card with a Photo

  • Report your missing card by phoning the ICBC driver licencing centre as soon as possible.

  • Get your card replaced by visiting an ICBC driver licencing office near you.

BC Services Card without a Photo

  • Report your missing card by phoning Health Insurance BC as soon as possible and a new card will be mailed to you.

Suspended, Seized or Revoked BC Driver’s Licence & Services Card

If your combined BC Driver’s Licence & Services Card is revoked for medical reasons or seized/suspended for other reasons, in an emergency you will not be denied essential medical services.

As soon as possible, you should:

  • Call Health Insurance BC to get your Personal Health Number.

  • Visit an ICBC driver licencing office to get a replacement BC Services Card with your photo on it.
