Federal contravention violation tickets

A ticket can be issued by various law enforcement agencies, for breaking federal laws and regulations in B.C. such as:

  • Fishing without a proper fishing licence
  • Having a campfire in a national park during a fire ban
  • Camping without a permit
  • Destroying or defacing protected areas including parks and wildlife habitats

Ticket holders have 30 days from the date on the front of the ticket to choose one of the following actions:

Not paying or disputing a ticket within 30 days means the ticket holder is considered to have pleaded guilty, and the full amount is payable and due immediately.
