Okanagan Valley Corridor - Current Projects
The following projects are in development.
Connecting John Hindle Drive from the Glenmore Landfill to UBC Okanagan Campus at Alumni Avenue (1.8 km).
Status: Going to tender Spring 2017
Now in the planning stage, improvements to the Highway 97 intersections at Boucherie and Westlake Roads will improve safety and traffic flow along the Highway 97 corridor.
Status: In conceptual planning
Urban widening from four to six lanes of Highway 97 in Kelowna from Highway 33 to Edwards Road, and other access and intersection improvements.
Status: Construction started in April 2016
Reconfiguration of the intersection at Stickle Road and Highway 97 to improve safety and mobility.
Status: Currently in preload construction phase
Improvements along the west side of Okanagan Lake from West Kelowna to Highway 97 near O'Keefe Range (approximately 65 km).
Status: Construction underway (Four Mile to Waterfront); construction to start March 2016 (Waterfront to Blue Grouse)
The 1.1 km La Casa to Muir Road project is part of the Province's commitment to the residents of the area to improve safety along Westside Road.
Status: In design
The 1.3 km Pine Point to Four Mile Creek project is part of the Province's commitment to the residents of the area to improve safety along Westside Road. This project continues south from the Four Mile Creek to Waterfront Farm project.
Status: In Design
The 1.3 km Four Mile Creek to Waterfront Farm project includes widening and alignment corrections, paved shoulders, rock fall protection and concrete roadside barriers in steep sections.
Status: Construction began January 2016
