Voluntary disclosure for stumpage and export fees

Last updated on February 2, 2024

If you discover you have incorrectly or inaccurately reported your stumpage or export fees, you may make a voluntary disclosure to correct your mistake.

When you make a voluntary disclosure, you won’t be subject to penalties or prosecution if you:

  • Start the voluntary disclosure,
  • Report all incorrect, inaccurate or unreported information about your stumpage or export fees,
  • Provide enough details to verify the facts, and
  • Make full payment of the amount due, including interest. In some cases, you may be able to set up a payment plan.

However, if you are aware that you are or will be investigated or audited, your voluntary disclosure will not be considered.

How to make a voluntary disclosure

Contact us to make a voluntary disclosure. When you first contact us, you don’t need to submit documentation or records.
