Payment options for the international business activity program

You may be required to submit a payment for the international business activity (IBA) program if

  • You are a corporation registering for the program
  • You need to repay an amount that was previously refunded
  • You have interest owing
  • You have incurred a penalty under the International Business Activity Act

You can pay:

Bank or financial institution

There are two ways where you can make a payment or pay your registration fee through your bank or financial institution:

  1. Electronic funds transfer
  2. Wire transfer

Only payments are accepted through your bank or financial institution. If you registering for the IBA program, you must submit the completed Application for Registration of a Corporation (FIN 574) (PDF, 240KB) separately either by mail, courier or at a government office.

Electronic funds transfer

To successfully submit a payment through EFT, you must

  1. Provide your bank our account information
  2. Send us the payment details

To complete an EFT payment, your bank will need the following information:

Payment details

To ensure the proper application of your payment, you must send the payment details to us through:

  1. Email at RSBCClientCare@gov.bc.ca with one of the following subject lines:
  • “Electronic Funds Transfer – Your Business Name –IBA Registration” if you are making a payment for the registration fee
  • “Electronic Funds Transfer – Your Business Name –Your IBA Account Number” if you have an account number

Or

  1. Fax to 250 405-4415, attention Electronic Payments Clerk, Revenue Services of British Columbia

Provide the following details in your email or fax:

  • Your business name
  • Your business number
  • The phrase “IBA Registration” if you are registering for the program
  • Your IBA account number if you have one
  • If applicable, the taxation year the payment is for
  • The date the payment was submitted
  • The amount you paid

*Your Financial Institution may have standard charges that apply to EFT payments. Ensure your financial institution does not deduct charges from the payment amount due as this will result in an underpayment.

Wire transfer

To successfully submit a payment through wire transfer, you must

  1. Provide your bank our account information
  2. Send us the payment details

To complete a wire transfer, payments must be made in Canadian dollars and your bank will need the following information:

Payment details

At a government office

You can submit your payment at one of the following locations:

Payments must be made in Canadian funds by cash, debit, cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to the Minister of Finance. See the Service BC website for locations and hours of operation.

Payments must be made in Canadian funds by cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to the Minister of Finance. Cash, debit and credit card payments are not accepted.

If you are submitting a payment for IBA registration, you can attach the completed Application for Registration of a Corporation (FIN 574) (PDF, 240KB) with your payment.

Remember to write your account number on your payment so your account can be easily identified when your payment is processed. For payments submitted for IBA registration, you only need to indicate that purpose.
