North Island Timber Supply Area (TSA)

The Great Bear Rainforest (Forest Management) Act and regulations came into effect January 1, 2017. 

The following timber supply areas (TSAs) are abolished:

  • North Coast TSA #21
  • Mid Coast TSA #19
  • Kingcome TSA #33
  • Strathcona TSA #37

Under the regulations, the North Coast, Mid Coast, Kingcome and Strathcona TSAs are replaced by the new and reconfigured Great Bear Rainforest (GBR) North TSA, Great Bear Rainforest (GBR) South TSA and North Island TSA.

The North Island TSA is created from the Vancouver Island portions of the Kingcome and Strathcona TSAs with an allowable annual cut of 1,248,100 cubic metres, effective January 1, 2017.
