Merritt Timber Supply Area

The Merritt timber supply area (TSA) covers about 1.13 million hectares in British Columbia’s southwest interior. Merritt and Princeton are the largest communities in the TSA. Smaller centres include Tulameen, Brookmere, Missezula Lake, Douglas Lake, Lower Nicola, Osprey Lake and Allison Lake.

The Merritt TSA is part of the Thompson-Okanagan Natural Resource Region and is administered by the Cascades Natural Resource District.

The TSA’s allowable annual cut (AAC) is 1.5 million cubic metres, effective March 30, 2016 until March 29, 2021. As of March 30, 2021 the AAC becomes 1.2 cubic metres. Generally, a new AAC is set at least once every 10 years.

Feedback is welcome on any issue related to the timber supply review for the Merritt TSA. Public input is vital to the timber supply review process.
