Great Bear Rainforest South Timber Supply Area (TSA)

The Great Bear Rainforest (Forest Management) Act and regulations came into effect January 1, 2017.

The following timber supply areas (TSAs) are abolished:

  • North Coast TSA #21
  • Mid Coast TSA #19
  • Kingcome TSA #33
  • Strathcona TSA #37

If you require documentation regarding the abolished timber supply areas, please contact Forests.ForestAnalysisBranchOffice@gov.bc.ca

Under the regulations, the North Coast, Mid Coast, Kingcome and Strathcona TSAs are replaced by the new and reconfigured Great Bear Rainforest (GBR) North TSA, Great Bear Rainforest (GBR) South TSA and North Island TSA.

The Great Bear Rainforest (GBR) South TSA is created from the mainland portions of the former Kingcome and Strathcona TSAs with an allowable annual cut of 830,500 cubic metres, effective January 1, 2017.

Feedback is welcome on any issues related to this timber supply review. Public input is a vital part of the timber supply review process.
