Vegetation Resource Inventory (VRI) audits

Last updated on February 27, 2024

Following the completion of a photo-estimated inventory project, Vegetation Resource Inventory (VRI) audit plots will be established in the vegetated treed portion of the landbase to verify the accuracy of this new spatial inventory. This sample data may also be used to adjust some of the spatial inventory attributes.

VRI audit pots may be randomly established in Timber Supply Areas (TSAs), Tree Farm Licenses (TFLs), or other strata of interest. As an example, for a given TSA, the vegetated-treed, the Timber Harvest Land Base (THLB) or mature spruce portion may be sampled.
