Re: Heat Reclaimer, Article 9.21.5.9.

With reference to your letter of October 15, 1988 regarding acceptance of a heat reclaimer/catalytic combustor installed on a flue pipe.

We appreciate the possible advantage of your proposal, but would point out that it specifically contravenes Article 9.21.5.9. of the Code and thus cannot become the basis of an Appeal.

Code changes are normally processed through the Building Standards Branch. We have taken the liberty of referring the documentation accompanying your submission to that authority and suggest that further correspondence in relation to the matter be conducted with them.
