Innovation in Agriculture

Innovation programs aim to transform ideas into new and sustainable solutions for the agrifood sector. 

The programs enable the development, piloting, commercialization and adoption of new products, practices, processes and technologies, making producers and processors more competitive and sustainable.

Agriculture Technology Programs

Innovative B.C. entrepreneurs in the agrifood and seafood sector can access programs that support the growth and expansion of their startups and/or existing businesses. The programs provide innovators with tools and expertise to build strong and competitive companies.

Canada-BC Agri-Innovation Program

Provides funding to support industry-led, late stage research, pilot and pre-commercial demonstration projects that lead to the commercialization and/or adoption of innovative products, processes, practices and technologies in B.C.

Provincially Significant Projects (PSP) Program

The PSP program supports projects that the government has identified as strategic priorities and are supported by Industry and Agriculture and Agrifood Canada.

Climate Adaptation Program

The climate adaptation program supports the agrifoods sector to adopt innovative regional and farm-level solutions to environmental pressures resulting from climate change. 

Innovation Strategy

The Agrifoods Innovation Strategy shapes policies and programs funded by Growing Forward 2.
