Working Outside the Workplace Policy

The Working Outside the Workplace Policy provides direction to BC Public Service employees on how to safeguard electronic and paper-based confidential and/or personal information when working remotely; this document is a must read for anyone who works ‘outside of the workplace’.

BC Public Service employees must fill out a Home Technology Assessment and make any required changes, prior to dealing with extenuating circumstances that would require storing or processing confidential and/or personal information on a home computer.

The Tip Guide: How to Protect Your Home Computer (PDF) is intended to provide employees with tips and tools that can be used to protect their home computer in support of the Working Outside the Workplace Policy and the Home Technology Assessment.

If you are unable to access the Home Technology Assessment above, please print this version of the Home Technology Assessment (PDF) and submit as a hard copy.
