Legislation & Regulation Privacy Impact Assessments

Last updated on April 19, 2024

When you propose new or amend existing legislation or regulations, the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA) requires that you complete a privacy impact assessment (PIA). Complete a PIA even if there is no personal information involved in the proposed legislation or regulations.

If you need help with your PIA, contact the Privacy and Access Helpline.
