Releasing Information & Data to the Public
Last updated on January 9, 2023Government is committed to expanding the public availability of government information and data through the disclosure of information without a formal Freedom of Information (FOI) request. Whenever possible, information is released to the public as permitted under the legislation and policies that apply to government or public sector organizations.
All ministries must take steps to expand public access to government data as outlined in the Open Information and Open Data Policy (PDF).
