Purolator resumes operations

Purolator and the Teamsters union have come to a tentative agreement. Normal operations resume today, Wednesday March 29th, 2017.

BC Mail Plus will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they are made available.

Attention BC Mail Plus Purolator MyShip account holders:

 

As a valued customer of BC Mail Plus and a Purolator MyShip account holder, we wanted to share some important information we recently received regarding potential job action by the Canadian Teamsters Union which may result in an interruption of Purolator Courier services.

Teamsters and Purolator are currently in labour negotiations, on Sunday March 26th, 2017 the Union issued 72 hours strike notice, scheduled to take affect Wednesday March 29th 2017.

In an effort to reduce the impact to their customers Purolator has suspended the pickup of shipments as of Tuesday March 28th 2017 to reduce the amount of shipments potentially stranded in their system.

While the Teamsters Union and Purolator are optimistic a new agreement can be negotiated, BC Mail Plus is preparing alternatives to relieve the uncertainty.

 

Housemail business as usual:

The BC Mail Plus Housemail system will not be affected. Correspondence and parcel shipments between BC Government and Broader Public sector customers on the Housemail system will continue to be delivered as usual.

 

What will be affected?

Purolator MyShip accounts should not be accessed until further notice.

 

What can you do?

  • If you have a Canada Post MyShip account, in most cases this can be used in lieu of the Purolator MyShip account.
  • If you do not have a Canada Post MyShip account or the shipment cannot be sent via Canada Post, Housemail customers can add the shipment to their BC Mail Plus Mail ticket.
  • If you are not on the Housemail system please access your local Canada Post outlet,courier or BC Mail Plus representative(see following list for contact numbers).


Moving forward, our Purolator representative is providing updates regularly and we will continue to update our customers as information is made available.
