How do I acquire a device?

While each branch and/or ministry may have their own purchasing procedures, in general:

  • Determine the type of service required
    • cellular phone
    • smartphone
    • Internet data stick
  • Contact the telecommunications coordinator in the ministry
    • no telecommunications coordinator?  Is there someone who does the ordering for the:
      • ministry
      • division
      • branch
      • program area
  • Review the service and equipment options available on the Rogers website
  • Gather the information required to complete the transaction
    • purchase document
    • pCard
    • billing information
    • account to which the phone will be added
  • Contact a Rogers authorized dealer with any questions or to place the order
  • Equipment and services can be ordered using any of the following methods:
    • visiting or contacting any of the authorized dealers
    • visiting the Rogers secure website
    • emailing the Business Support Group for the Province of B.C.
    • phoning the Business Support Group 1 877 274-3375 ext 55801
  • The dealer may complete a Purchase Order Details Form and require a signature
    • a copy of this form can be submitted to the appropriate finance or accounts payable department of your program area, branch, division or ministry
  • The person ordering can pay using a pCard or may be invoiced by the dealer
  • The equipment will either be shipped to the user by courier or the user may pick-up/obtain the equipment directly from the dealer location (at a pre-determined time, usually during business hours)
