Punjab Milk Foods (PMF) is one of the largest and most innovative suppliers of Indian dairy products in North America.

The company’s flagship line, Nanak Foods, uses state-of-the-art continuous manufacturing technologies to create Indian food products that are typically made in small batches, with the added advantage of an extended shelf life that allows them to ship these products overseas. Since Indian dairy products are typically made from buffalo milk — that is unavailable locally — PMF undertook extensive research and development to make these traditional products from B.C. cow’s milk, while simulating the authentic flavour and texture of buffalo milk.

The Nanak Foods line offers a variety of products known for their unmatchable taste, fresh ingredients and premium quality, including: Indian dairy products such as paneer (cheese), dahi (plain yogurt) and ghee (clarified butter); appetizers including aloo tikki, paneer pakoras, jalapeño poppers and veggie kebabs; and desserts such as rasmalai, gulabamun and rasogolla. PMF is Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) compliant and pending certification from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), and is Safe Quality Food (SQF) Level II approved.

PMF is a minority-owned business established in Surrey in 1997. After 17 years of growth, PMF has expanded from three employees working in a 2000 sq. ft. production facility, to 200 employees working in a 100,000 sq. ft. facility. The company provides food to local cultural events, contributes to a wide range of community organizations, including the Boys & Girls Club and Heart & Stroke Foundation, and organizes fundraisers such as the Light of Hope event that supports all-girls orphanages in India.
