Pine Beetle Action Coalitions

These B.C. Beetle Action Coalitions prepare and implement regional-scale strategies which respond to the impacts caused by the mountain pine beetle.

  • Cariboo Chilcotin Beetle Action Coalition (CCBAC) was created in 2005 by community leaders who were concerned about the impacts that the mountain pine beetle would have on the Cariboo Chilcotin region.
  • Omineca Beetle Action Coalition: The region's local governments have worked together, with the B.C. government and local stakeholders to produce a Blueprint for Action. The Omineca Beetle Action Coalition continues to work with governments, private and public sector enterprises, and others on the challenging work of implementation.

  • Southern Interior Beetle Action Coalition (SIBAC) was created in 2006 after a small group of southern interior local government and First Nations leaders met to discuss the potential environmental, economic, and social impacts of the mountain pine beetle.
