Restore a Society

Upon restoration a society is deemed to have continued in existence as if it had not been dissolved. It will have (unless the court orders otherwise):

  • The same incorporation number it had prior to being dissolved
  • The name that was requested and reserved for the society
  • The registered office address (mailing and delivery) that was entered in the restoration application

Note: If a society that was formed under the previous Act dissolved without transitioning, it will have to file a transition application within one year of its restoration.

Occupational Title Protection Societies

An Occupational Title Protection (OTP) society that dissolves and then restores, will restore without OTP status.
